United Way Worldwide MyFreeTaxes helpline is available nationwide to assist taxpayers filing their own returns.

Here are the details:


MyFreeTaxes is a free, safe and easy way for anyone earning $64,000 or less to file state and federal taxes.

  • MyFreeTaxes filing software, provided by H&R Block, uses the highest industry standards to safeguard taxpayer information.

  • has been accepting electronically filed returns since January 13th for this tax season

  • is optimized for mobile devices –filers can enter data into their secure account anytime, anywhere.

  • MyFreeTaxes can help taxpayers find out if they are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and other credits.

  • MyFreeTaxes is the only free tax filing product offered by a non-profit, with partners on the ground and on a telephone helpline available in English and Spanish.

  • The MyFreeTaxes Helpline is available from January 23, 2017 through April 18, 2017 during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday and between Noon and 9 p.m. EST on Saturday.
