Privacy

Your privacy is a personal and fundamental right. Michigan 2-1-1 values and protects your privacy and places strict controls on the gathering and using of personally identifiable information.

Your personal information is not disclosed, made available, or otherwise used for purposes other than those specified at the time of collection, except with your consent or as authorized by law or regulation. We use return email addresses to respond to requests for information. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

As with most modern websites, “session cookies” consisting of an arbitrary tracking ID are used to identify your visit to and movement throughout site. Personally identifiable data is never stored in the form cookies and only stored in our database when you choose to submit information, such as in a contact form. In cases of abuse, hacking, unauthorized access, Denial of Service attacks, or any other harmful behavior, system administrators are empowered to log, track, identify, publish, and ban misbehaving individuals—even if this leads to banning entire blocks of IP addresses or disclosing users’ identities.

To help ensure the confidentiality of your personal information, it is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
